Ten things I'm thankful for
-
Sharpies… seriously.
-
Chad’s laugh (especially in person).
-
Trails, the actual ones and the metaphorical kind too.
-
My yoga mat (and all the stuff I’ve learned to do and be when I’m on it).
-
Writers braver than I am.
-
Words… and all that they make possible.
-
My freckled, flawed and utterly amazing body.
-
Ian (my GPS).
-
All the openhearted, honest, generous, smart, daring, there-for-me badasses in my life. You know who you are.
-
Vegetarian pizza.
What’s on your list?

Last week I promised to doodle a postcard for someone who commented on my post, and this week, The Boy drew Nancy McGlothin’s name out of the magic top hat. Thank you to everyone who commented. I loved your creative question ideas and, more importantly, you made the launch of my new siteΒ more fun than a square dance with a silver-tongued space monkey.

I’m grateful for soo many things…
here’s 10
1- Love.. it floats my boat and makes me swoon no matter where I feel it, see it find it
2- Laughter… nothing instantly makes me feel a million times better then laughter
3- bubble baths… life without a tub… would just be depressing
4. music….can’t imagine a day without singing
5. tea… like poor Arthur Dent ( Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy ) roaming the Universe without a good cuppa… just soo sad
6. clouds…a blue sky might be nice but clouds make the sky come alive
7. water… in all it’s forms… rain, snow, sleet, ice, vapour excites me
8. the internet….connecting sooo many all over the world.. bringing us together in ways we never could have imagined as kids ( well us older kids LOL )
9. books…. stories….to remind us to use our imagination
10..the amazing awesome wonderful people in my life.. the love they share… the light they shine… and the knowing always that it’s always there
11… bonus…. surprizes… grateful to the way everyday the Universe surprizes me
Not long ago, after a really tough, emotional week, I ran a bath. First time in years, I think. No bubbles, just hot water and a book. It was the most relaxed I’d been in months. I almost fell asleep!
Now I’ll think of you when I see my bubble bath doodle. π
I’m thankful for:
1. Knitting needles & lovely yarn
2. The way my husband can make me laugh at the oddest things.
3. Books
4. The things my perfectly imperfect body allows me to do.
5. That my painful experiences can help others
6. j, her words, her badass, warrior-of-love bravery, and all she brings into my world.
7. My dogs
8. My mom – talk about a warrior!
9. Pumpkin pie
10. Every person in my life brave enough to be exactly who they are.
Kellie, I didn’t know you knit! Did you see this? I want some and I don’t even knit. They’re so cute! http://www.mamasmagicstudio.com/catalog/jewelry-knitters-and-yarn-lovers
Your number 6 makes me mushy… and grateful right back at you. And I hope my boys think of me as a warrior, now and later… when they’re off fighting battles on their own.
xo
I’m just teaching myself to knit. I *finally* got to the place where I am enjoying the learning process. My dream is to knit myself some socks. Kind of crazy, right?
I totally love the jewelry!!!
I love that I made you mushy. π
I would be surprised if your boys DIDN’T think of you as a warrior.
Hugs & love!
Aw! xoxo
I am so thankful…
1. That my precious baby grandson Micah remains with us.
2. The PICU nurses and doctors that are caring for him.
3. The pure innocent joy that my grandson Zachary shares.
4. The fact that Zachary is home with his family after a long hospital stay.
5. My amazing daughter and son-in-law for having the strength to see each day through.
6. That I am married to the love of my life.
7. That the universe sends grace our way.
8. That my son is on a plane flying to where I am right now.
9. For my MacBook.
10. That I am able to be standing in this very place at this very moment.
I love that you can, in the midst of so much scary, feel gratitude and grace. You’re inspiring to me. Sending big love your way, Leslie, holding you in my thoughts and heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful list.
Togetherness, music, silence. That walk in the sunshine. Blogging.
Oops, ten? So much of life is here already!
Ha! Ten isn’t a requirement. I should have had connection on my list. I’ve been wildly thankful for that lately. Partly because of you. Happy Thursday to you on your side of the pond, my friend.
Ten things…
1. My sweetie.
2. Living in a great place for walking.
3. People who make music.
4. Libraries.
5. Bookstores.
6. Knowing I can be on the side of a mountain or standing on a bluff overlooking the ocean after a short journey.
7. All the things my brain & my body can do.
8. Past & future travels.
9. Loved ones.
10. Art supplies.
We do live in an amazing place, don’t we? So many different terrains within an hour or two drive.
We need to go on an art store field trip! xo
Sounds good…I’m in!
I love your list. I am thankful for many things. On the top of my list is my family which includes my husband, my cat, my immediate family, my in-laws, and many friends I consider family. I am very grateful this year, more than years in the past, for my mother’s health, there were issues the last 12 months so for her to be in a basically healthy state at this time is a miracle! I’m thankful for my health too, most of us realiize how precious it is and fleeting it can be. I am grateful for you, J, and your badassery! XOXOXO. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Hello, Terre, nice to see you here! I had a minor scare recently too, healthwise, and it does remind you how fortunate you are to be generally healthy! Yay for your mom! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Glad to hear your scare was minor and it was just a scare.
Nothing like a false alarm to remind you to be grateful, right?
Wow, my list would be exactly like June’s list! Bubble baths, music, tea, love, laughter, clouds, water, the internet, books, the incredible people in my life, universe magic (surprises) and I would add…pajamas, warm fuzzy slippers, great smelling candles, the earth because I love being outside, love the smells, the beauty (I feel more alive outdoors than anywhere else), a good glass of red wine, inspiring movies, dark chocolate, massages and last but certainly not least, this website and our beautiful j for creating a place where so many wonderful spirits come to share, to play and to connect!
Sending lots of love to you all on this day of Thanks!!
I love June’s love of water in every form. I like being on the water in a boat, or by the water on a shore… but I’m not crazy about snow, and I can definitely live without sleet and the kind of ice you get from cold weather. Are you a water -in-all-its-forms fan like June? And here’s our perfect date: long walk on a winding trail, followed by wine and chocolate and a movie. (We may have to negotiate our movie because I tend toward messy and dramatic, but I’m sure we can come up with something.)
Love received and sent back to you tenfold!
Very cool new site! My list, via poem, is on my blog.
Thank you! And holy cow, I LOVE you poem. I tweeted it, and I’m sharing it here for those who wander through the comment thread.

<3
21) I'd love to be thankful for a postcard from j. π
Excellent list! Even as it (mostly) clears away the metric tons of dog hair wafting through our house, I never feel grateful for my vacuum. I think it’s a personal failing.

Thank you for the belated happy wishes. Hope all is well on your side of the planet. xo
Beautiful list! I’m sorry I missed this; it didn’t show up in my reader. I will have to go double check that. I know I put the new site in there!
