Day 28 of my 30-day project to draw familiar thing Day 28 of my 30-day project to draw familiar things in new ways. Here are five crows. Not only are crows a prompt in @theydrawandgarden's #theydrawtober challenge, they are a tiny personal victory for me. A while ago, my husband was looking at one of my illustrations, and I said, "Did you notice the crow on the roof?" And he said, "I did see the bird." Then he said it looked more like a blackbird than a crow. I thought he was being pretty picky and besides, I didn't realize blackbirds and crows weren't the same thing. Also, did I mention, he was being pretty picky? Long story short, when I saw the prompt, I decided to see if I could better capture a crow in my style. I'm not sure these will pass my husband's outrageous high bar for crow accuracy, but I redrew them several times, even consulting some crow photos, and I'm satisfied they look crow-enough.
