I’m daring to believe
that my dreams
(especially the one that’s scary to say aloud
even as it squawks and honks and soars inside me
like some kind of crazed, wild goose)
are not only possible, but meant to be.
I’m daring to believe that it’s destiny –
all this commotion in my heart –
and that maybe squawking goose-like dreams
are the most likely dreams of all to come true.
I’m daring to believe that I deserve all the good stuff,
that my desire, my fear-wrangling,
my (fraught and zig-zaggy) forward motion
qualifies me for the top of whatever mountain I climb.
I’m daring to believe that my dreams
especially the big one that makes my insides hum,
that quickens my pulse and quiets my soul at the same damn time,
that makes me ache and swoon and shimmer with possibility)
My truth. As only I can know it.
I’m daring to believe that my daring to believe
is all the invitation the universe needs
to put on its dancing shoes
and dance with me.
Last week, I wrote about the little bit of magic I felt making a to-do list for me and the universe. On the left side are the things I can start doing immediately to achieve my dreams, and on the right side are the things I’m going to need a little help with – the universe’s list.
Would you like me to make you one? I’m offering them now in my Etsy shop: custom “Me & The Universe To-do Lists.” You tell me what you want each side to say, and I will create an original, one-of-a-kind, 9×12 inch piece especially for you – hand lettered and inked. I’m excited to do this for people; it’s like holding your hand while you dare not only to dream big, but to take action on your dreams as well. And for the month of January, type the coupon code DREAMBIG when you check out, and get 10% off your entire Etsy order.
On Twitter today, someone wrote, “In 2014, let’s all take care of each other.” I like that. Let’s.
There’s a lot more coming to the shop in the weeks ahead: “next purchase” discounts, new art, a bunch of very cool birthday cards, and some crazy love designs just in time for Valentine’s Day. And that’s just what’s in store for January.
